Nickolas Ellis closed his first season in the Ligier European Series with a second-place finish at the final round in Portimão, Portugal, his best result of the campaign, according to Energy FM Sport.
Ellis shares the Trajectus Motorsport Ligier JS P4 with Gabriel Doyle-Parfait. In the opening one-hour race he took over the car during the pit-stop window and worked his way forward to cross the line in fourth.
Penalties handed out after the race then lifted the pair to second, giving them a place on the podium.
The duo added sixth place in the second race of the weekend, Energy FM Sport reported.
The result rounded off a consistent debut year for the Manx racer, who recorded eight top-seven finishes across 11 races and finished ninth in the Drivers’ Championship.
